GQ: I can’t believe it’s the last season. I’m sure it’s hit you by now, since you’ve been talking about it for the last three months.
Jessica Paré: Yeah, but we’ve also been shooting since November, and every time that I go to work, I’m like, This is the last time that I’ll go to work at exactly this time of day when the weather is exactly like this and that person is standing over there. Even though it’s not over, and we still have quite a good chunk to shoot, actually! But it just feels final. And that’s strange coming from me, I suppose, because I’ve only been a part of it since Season 4. But you know, it’s been so amazing, the whole experience. It’s going to be really hard to say goodbye.
You make a memorable entrance this season, with the sports car and the mini-dress. Did shooting it feel as cool and sexy as it looks?
Well, I don’t know if you know this—I don’t drive a stick. I mean, I barely drive my automatic.[Laughs] I get to work and everything, but I’m not any kind of driving prodigy. And so to have to drive that car on my first day back was extremely stressful. Not everyone can tell by looking at it, but there’s a crane shot when I pull up—so the whole crew, all these people who I’ve come to love over the past three or four years, are right in my path. So if I were to do the wrong thing, I would just kill all these people that I love.
So you were just thinking, “Don’t kill the crew. Don’t kill the crew.”
Exactly. So to be honest with you, my mind was more on not maiming anyone.
